Are You Doing A Kitchen Remodel?

Have you already been doing research on the things you want to do to your kitchen? If not, consider setting up a small file, maybe an accordion file, so that you can start collecting things like pictures from decorating magazines and notes of things you want to do. From selecting quartz countertops to choosing your kitchen furniture, here are some ideas that might help you to design an attractive kitchen that you and yours will enjoy for a long time.

The Countertops - As you browsed through decorating magazines, or if you've gone into home good stores, you might have been attracted to quartz countertops. Selecting those for your kitchen remodel job might be one of the smartest choices you'll make. Quartz countertops aren't just beautiful; they're also a very practical choice. Besides coming in many prices, there are so many styles that you might have a problem selecting the ones for your kitchen.

Quartz countertops are super easy to care for, too. Just wipe them off with a damp cloth and, if extra cleaning is necessary, use a gentle cleaner. If you want to make a dramatic statement, select something like gray or black quartz countertops that have a gold vein as part of the design. For something less dramatic, consider choosing a neutral color, perhaps gray or light caramel.

The Furniture - Do you have a small area to work with in your kitchen or a large area? If you have a very small area, consider using your cooking island as the place where your family will eat meals. Choose tall chairs, maybe bar stools. If you have a larger area, consider selecting a rectangular table. Use regular chairs at the ends of the table but think of choosing benches to place on each side of the table.

If you have chosen dark gray or black for your quartz countertops, consider buying a metal table and chairs. If you selected a neutral color for your countertops, think of buying wooden furniture. Or, if you want to add drama to the room, buy unfinished wooden kitchen furniture and give it the look you want yourself. For example, you might want a shabby chic look.

Or, if you want to add a bit of a farm look to your remodeled kitchen, think of choosing red for your unfinished furniture. Select a kitchen hutch that can be used to display things like cookbooks, collectibles, and even plants.
